Still a little frozen.

No, we didn't have a change of climate in south Florida. As a matter of fact, it is probably about 90 degrees outside. But I was at the dentist this morning, for a root canal, post insertion, and retrofitting of an old crown! What a wonderful way to start the week. At least now, I don't have one of my front teeth missing, broken off at the gumline.
And I get to start next week at the same place, and have some broken roots taken out, and a front filling redone. Such fun. The dentist is a real nice guy, I just would rather see him under different circumstances. He has been working on my teeth, as needed, for over 30 years, and really is a considerate person. I was amazed at his statment this morning, that he had been awake half the night, last night, worrying about how my replacement was going to go. Never had a dentist say that to me before. Bad enough I should lay awake worrying about having it done, and her he is awake as well.
Last Monday was more fun, in spite of the broken tooth. We went to Orlando, for the graduation of Carol's grand-daughter, from the Police Academy, or Criminal Justice Institute, as Valencia College calls it. She is now an official member of the Orlando Police Dept, although there is a little more training going on. She took two of the three top awards that were given out!! There is a shooting course that they go thru, at the completion of their 20 weeks of training, and they fire on 132 targets, using their handguns, rifles, and shotguns on various targets. Amanda was the only one who hit all 132 targets, for a perfect score. Don't even mess with her!!! She also took the top scholastic score, sort of like an SAT thing. 1500 possible points, and she scored 1476 points, or 98.4% correct. (She let one of the fellows win the most athletic award, but probably gave him a run for his money on that, also.) So if you meet Officer #456, in Orlando, be nice to her.
After a quiet hurricane season so far, suddenly we get three named storms in one weekend. One went into the Panhandle last night/today, one, Ana, has pretty mcu fizzled out, but may bring rain, as a depression, by midweek, and Bill, is too far away to know what might happen. Maybe I better go out and run the generator for a bit, just to make sure it is ready. (And fill the gas cans.)
And get ready for another dental visit next Monday morning!!!
